FAQ

Questions, answered.

Usually not. We use continuous replication and rehearse every cutover with a tested rollback plan. For most workloads the switchover window is minutes; for critical systems we design zero-downtime cutovers with read replicas and blue/green traffic shifts. The plan — including the rollback — is in writing before anything moves.
A readiness assessment takes two weeks. A focused rehost of a small environment can be live in 4–8 weeks. Larger estates move in waves over 2–6 months. Modernization (refactoring while migrating) adds time but pays back in operating cost and velocity — we'll give you both options with honest tradeoffs.
The assessment is a fixed $2,500 (credited toward the project). Migration projects are fixed-quoted after the assessment — most fall between $10k and $60k depending on workload count and complexity. Your AWS usage is billed by AWS directly; we take zero markup on your cloud bill.
Yes. Cloud-to-cloud migrations (Azure, GCP, or smaller providers to AWS) follow the same playbook: assess, design the landing zone, move in waves, validate. Data transfer and service-parity mapping are the main differences, and we handle both.
We build the landing zone with compliance in mind from day one: multi-account structure, SSO, encryption everywhere, centralized logging, and detective controls. We've delivered SOC 2, HIPAA, and PCI-aligned environments, with documentation your auditors can actually read.
That's the default. We pair with your engineers throughout, document everything, and hand over runbooks and training. Most clients are fully self-sufficient within a month of cutover. If you'd rather not operate it yourself, we offer managed operations as a retainer.
Every wave has a written rollback plan that's been tested in a dry run. If a cutover doesn't go to plan, we roll back to the known-good state, diagnose in the rehearsal environment, and reschedule. You approve the go/no-go criteria with us before the window opens.
Absolutely. The assessment deliverable is yours to keep — strategy map, cost estimates, wave plan, and fixed project quote. Plenty of teams execute it themselves; we're happy to stay on for advisory check-ins if you want a second pair of eyes.
